Incompetent hokim assistants in all neighborhoods of Uzbekistan to be replaced
Incompetent hokim (mayor) assistants in 8,992 neighborhoods (mahallalars) across Uzbekistan will be replaced. This was announced on September 3 during a meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to discussing measures to bring work on poverty reduction and increasing public income to a new level.
It was noted that district headquarters will transition hokim assistants in neighborhoods to a "project-based" work system. For this purpose, hokim assistants in 8,992 neighborhoods will be appointed as acting assistants; dedicated and proactive personnel will be reappointed to their positions, while those unfit for their jobs will be replaced.
Officials were tasked with establishing a training center within two months and attracting specialists from abroad. In this center, hokim assistants will be trained to work on a "project-based" basis.
Additionally, at the end of the year, regional headquarters will send the two best hokim assistants from each district to China, Japan, and Turkey for professional development. The most exemplary hokim assistants will be awarded a special qualification level and paid a bonus of up to 50 percent.
It was instructed to train neighborhood bankers in the same manner and organize their foreign internships.
The Prosecutor General's Office was tasked with assisting in eliminating factors that prevent bankers and hokim assistants from making independent decisions.
