In Uzbekistan, up to 22 million UZS in assistance to be allocated for the medical treatment of certain women
In Uzbekistan, funds of up to 50 times the BCM (Basic Calculation Amount), i.e., up to 22 million UZS, will be provided from the "Women's Notebook" fund to cover the costs of non-surgical medical treatment for women.
Additionally, financial assistance of up to 10 times the BCM — up to 4 million 400 thousand UZS — has been established to cover the costs of medical check-ups.
Previously, the costs of surgical procedures were covered within the framework of base prices set in the State Health Insurance contract; under the new procedure, regardless of the medical facility in which the patient receives treatment, the full amount specified in the contract presented by the patient will be covered.
Furthermore, district and city headquarters have been granted the right to make decisions on providing medical assistance to other needy families within the framework of funds allocated for the region. This opportunity also applies to families that do not fall into the established income category and are not listed in the "Single Register of Social Protection," but are at risk of falling into poverty.
To make use of this assistance, one must submit an application to the women's activist of the neighborhood (mahalla) at the place of residence.
