In the Tashkent region, a scheme for illegally obtaining international SAT certificates in mathematics and English has been uncovered. This was reported by the regional department of the State Security Service (SSS).
According to the agency, the group members set up a "bunker" in the building of a private school in the Yangihayot district. Most of them are students of a branch of a foreign university in Tashkent.
An IT company specialist gained covert access to the system and enabled the ability to solve test tasks. Following this, the students remotely completed the tests on behalf of the applicants.
One of the group members demanded $1,500 from each of five individuals wishing to obtain the certificate. They managed to accept money from one of them via a crypto wallet.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under Article 168 of the Criminal Code (fraud). The investigation is currently ongoing.
