The drone attack on the Nizhnekamsk industrial zone in Tatarstan could affect not only Russian oil refining but also the Kazakh sector. In particular, concerns arise regarding the supply of the Kondensat refinery, located in the West Kazakhstan region.

This refinery is directly dependent on products manufactured by the Nizhnekamsk refineries. Details of the damage and its impact on the refineries are currently being clarified, according to the portal "Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan. Facts and Comments."

According to initial eyewitness reports, the strike presumably hit the premises of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, a subsidiary of SIBUR. This company is also a co-owner of several large gas chemical projects in Kazakhstan.

By evening, information emerged that the main target may have been the TANECO oil refinery complex, owned by Tatneft. This situation is of particular interest to Kazakhstan, as the Kondensat refinery has long been dependent on external sources of raw materials.

"Gas condensate produced in Nizhnekamsk has been sent for processing to the Kondensat plant in the West Kazakhstan region since February 2024. Consequently, potential disruptions in the Tatarstan complex could potentially impact the availability of raw materials for the Kazakh enterprise," the portal's experts noted.
