In Tashkent, the cause of mass fish deaths in the Salar canal is being investigated

A mass death of fish has been recorded in the capital's Salar canal. Following reports on social media, employees of the Tashkent Main Department of Ecology and Climate Change dispatched to the scene.

Inspectors are surveying the area and investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Specialists from the Department of Environmental Monitoring, Climate Change Adaptation, and Hydrometeorology Coordination took water samples from the canal for laboratory analysis.

The cause of the fish deaths has not yet been established. Specialists are checking possible factors that could have led to the incident. The environmental agency noted that final conclusions will be made after the completion of the survey and laboratory studies.

The results of the investigation will be reported additionally.

Earlier, in the Bukhara region, illegal fishing on Lake Khadicha was prevented. 118 fish were seized from three suspects, and the damage to nature was estimated at more than 126 million soums.
