In Syrdarya, 2 Department of Internal Affairs officers who committed a crime have been imprisoned

In Syrdarya, 2 Department of Internal Affairs (IIB) officers have been sentenced to prison.

It is reported that the head of a farm in the Khavast district appealed to the IIB regarding an illegal situation committed on his land plot. He stated that the damage caused to him was in a large amount and requested that a criminal case be initiated in accordance with the established procedure and legal action be taken against the culprit.

According to the application, the person who committed this crime was identified, and it was revealed that he had caused damage of around 30-40 million soums to the farmer. In order to cover up this crime, two officers of the Khavast District IIB fabricated false evidence themselves: they told the farmer that the suspect could not cover the 30 million soums of damage, and that they would recover around 10-12 million soums from him. The head of the farm agreed to this.

After that, the officers intimidated the suspect, telling him that he had caused 50 million soums of damage to the farmer and that he would be imprisoned if he did not pay this amount. The suspect initially brought 24 million soums. The officers gave 12 million soums of this money to the victim and stated that no criminal case would be initiated regarding the situation, and that the case would pass through the court in an administrative manner.

The officers were caught during an operational event while receiving the remaining 11 million soums of the agreed 35 million soums.

By the verdict of the Saykhunabad District Criminal Court, the former officers were found guilty of committing the crimes of bribery and falsification of evidence. One of them was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month, and the other to 6 years and 1 month of imprisonment.

Additionally, a private ruling was issued by the court to prevent the commission of such crimes and was sent to the Syrdarya Regional IIB.
