Action taken against Damas driver carrying 16 kindergarten children in Syrdarya
In the Gulistan district of the Syrdarya region, a Damas driver was stopped by Road Safety officers while carrying 16 kindergarten children.
It is reported that, according to the current Road Traffic Rules, it is prohibited to transport more people than specified in the vehicle's technical passport.
In the identified case, the Damas vehicle was carrying 16 kindergarten children in violation of passenger transportation rules. Preventive explanatory work was conducted with the driver regarding the potential consequences of the violation.
Regarding the situation, an administrative report was drawn up against the driver under Article 128-8 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Violation of the rules for transporting people in vehicles).
According to this article, violating the rules for transporting people in vehicles leads to a fine of two times the base calculating amount.
The Department of Internal Affairs warned that such violations could lead to road traffic accidents and urged parents to be attentive to the number of passengers in vehicles and safety requirements when transporting their children.
Transporting kindergarten children in 4-7-seater cars in violation of safety rules is quite common in Uzbekistan.

At the wheel was the head of a family kindergarten who had not obtained a driver's license. As a result of the incident, the woman died, and the children were hospitalized with various injuries.
Following this, between May 1 and May 8, the Road Safety Service identified 125 cases related to the overloading of children in transport.
According to Zoyir Yuldashev, the head of the department's information service, in some cases, up to 25-28 children were transported in Damas cars, and up to 18 children in Spark cars.
In addition, in the Khojaoband district of the Andijan region, a driver carrying 21 kindergarten children in a Tracker caused a traffic accident. As a result, a 6-year-old girl died, and 7 more children were injured. The court sentenced the driver to 3 years of restriction of liberty and deprived him of the right to drive vehicles for 2 years.
It is worth noting that despite regular reports and warnings about the severe consequences of such violations, as well as ongoing control measures, cases of transporting children beyond capacity, putting their lives at risk on the roads, are frequently encountered.
