In Saudi Arabia, the headquarters of the largest oil company was attacked

The headquarters of Saudi Aramco, one of the world's largest oil companies, sustained serious damage following a Houthi attack in Saudi Arabia. The fire spread from the sixth to the tenth floor of the building, while ceilings collapsed and windows were blown out on the upper floors.

At the same time, the complex continues to operate as normal. Some employees have been moved to remote work, and certain company functions have been transferred to overseas offices.

According to the agency's sources, the fire started on the ninth floor of the building's south wing and then spread to several floors. The top three floors, where the office of Saudi Aramco's CEO is located, suffered severe damage: part of the ceiling collapsed, and windows and doors were blown out.

The official assessment of the consequences differs from the publication's assessment. The Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia stated that the attack caused a fire of limited scope.

The headquarters houses an operations center through which the company controls the functioning of onshore and offshore oil platforms, oil refineries, export terminals, and thousands of kilometers of pipelines.

The attack occurred amid an escalation of hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.

Earlier, the Houthis launched a strike on Riyadh International Airport, which killed at least 12 people and injured 309 others.
