In Samarqand, ecology officers were not allowed to enter the territory of an enterprise

During the investigation of an appeal received regarding the activities of the "T.K." enterprise located in the city of Kattaqurgan, Samarqand region, ecology officers were not allowed to conduct an inspection. This was reported by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

In August 2026, complaints were received by the presidential hotline regarding the activities of the enterprise, including the emission of harmful smoke into the air and the spread of an unpleasant odor at night. Based on this appeal, Eco-police officers went to the territory of the "T.K." enterprise, having notified the relevant organizations.

When the surroundings of the enterprise were inspected, it was found that harmful smoke was being emitted into the atmosphere and construction waste was being dumped in an undesignated area outside the enterprise. However, the officers' entry into the enterprise's territory was blocked, and the management did not answer phone calls.

According to the committee, the Kattaqurgan city administration was also contacted regarding the situation, but there has been no result so far. The Business Ombudsman was also notified regarding the legality of the inspection and the protection of entrepreneurs' rights.

A protocol is being drawn up on this situation based on the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. An application is also being submitted to the court to investigate the activities of the enterprise.
