In Samarkand, a man tied a dog to a scooter and dragged it along the asphalt. Residents demand an investigation

In Samarkand, eyewitnesses reported a possible case of animal cruelty. According to them, a man tied a dog to a scooter and dragged it along the asphalt, stopping only after the outrage of tourists who began filming what was happening on video. After this, the dog was unable to stand up on its paws on its own.

This was reported to human rights activist and public figure Elena Babenko in private messages with a request to publicize the case of animal cruelty.

According to witnesses, the man was riding a scooter, dragging the tied dog behind him. Two children were next to him. He stopped only when tourists began to express outrage and film the incident on video. The dog was lying on the ground and could not stand up. Judging by outward signs, its paws may be severely damaged.

Eyewitnesses intend to contact law enforcement agencies with an application, but they fear that without public outcry, the incident might be left without a proper investigation.

Now, a reaction from the law enforcement agencies of Samarkand is expected; they will have to verify the information about the incident and give it a legal assessment.

There is no information yet about the dog's condition.

Earlier in Tashkent, the author of a video in which adults tied a rope to a cat's neck and handed it to a child was fined for animal cruelty.
