In Kyiv, a missile hit a nine-story building

On October 13, two people were killed and 21 were injured as a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv. According to the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, a missile hit a nine-story residential building. An eight-year-old child is among the injured.

According to DW, the missile struck a building located in the Desnyanskyi district in northeastern Kyiv. Fires broke out in apartments on the lower eight floors of the building.

Klitschko stated that 16 injured people were hospitalized, four of whom are in critical condition.

The mayor also reported that a drone hit an office building in the Solomianskyi district, drone debris fell onto a stadium area in the Darnytskyi district, and a warehouse caught fire in the Desnyanskyi district.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the target of the attack was one of Kyiv's main energy facilities — Thermal Power Plant No. 4. The strike was carried out against the backdrop of the energy truce announced by Donald Trump.

Zelenskyy emphasized that partners had not warned Ukraine about Russia launching ballistic missiles. He called it unfair that while energy facilities are being destroyed, no warning about missile launches is even received.

The President of Ukraine stated that it is important for the US to see the events and who is responsible for the continuation of the war. Citing Ukrainian intelligence data, he also reported that Russia is preparing new ballistic missile strikes.

Speaking to journalists in Washington on the same day, Donald Trump denied reports that the US was not providing intelligence to Ukraine.

"We are helping them and sharing intelligence data," Trump said. According to him, the US is working with Ukraine and Russia to end the war.

Earlier, Trump had stated that Vladimir Putin was showing more interest in a peace agreement than Zelenskyy. When asked about the violation of the energy truce, he stated that "violations occurred on both sides."

This is another attack on Ukrainian cities in recent days. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, three people were killed in a strike on Kharkiv overnight into October 13. On the evening of October 12, two people lost their lives when a drone hit a 25-story building in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that strikes were carried out on military-industrial enterprises and logistics centers in Kyiv, including a drone production workshop and a locomotive depot.
