Andijan plans to launch production of equipment for 100 small HPPs per year
An enterprise for the production of equipment for small hydropower plants (HPPs) is being established in the Andijan district, backed by $20 million in foreign investment. Once it reaches full capacity in 2027, it will be able to produce 100 systems per year and supply products not only to the domestic market but also to Central Asian countries.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the project. The enterprise will also manufacture equipment for micro-hydropower and electrical engineering products.
The project will create 200 jobs. Product exports to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are planned to reach $3 million per year.
In addition, the enterprise intends to build micro-HPPs in the Andijan region to provide electricity to the population and businesses.
During his trip, the head of state also visited the Eco Cotton enterprise in the Andijan district, which produces knitwear from local raw cotton.
