“I erased television from my life.” Turkish actor Özcan Deniz says he will no longer star in TV series

Famous Turkish actor and singer Özcan Deniz announced that he has completely ended his career in television series. Throughout his career, he played lead roles in numerous projects, including the series “Bride of Istanbul” and “Red Roses,” which are well known to viewers.

The 54-year-old actor announced this decision at the premiere of the movie “The Last Supper,” held within the framework of the Antalya International Film Festival. In the new feature film, he starred alongside actress Öykü Karayel.

The reason behind the Turkish actor leaving TV series

According to Özcan Deniz, creating free content on television is becoming increasingly difficult today, and authors and actors are constantly forced to take restrictions into account.

“I have completely left television because I consider the situation there to be chaotic. Moreover, it is no longer possible to create the content that is required today. Cinema is more sincere and real than TV series, while television is a space that requires much more caution,” the actor says.

He clarified that this decision applies only to television, and he has not stopped his acting career altogether. He plans to focus his attention on cinematography and perform new roles on the big screen.

Özcan Deniz originally began his career as a pop singer in the early 1990s. He later transitioned into acting and starred in a number of TV series and movies.

The series “Asmalı Konak,” broadcast in 2002, became one of the important turning points in his acting career. After that, he portrayed the character of Faruk Boran in the project “Night of June” and in the series “Bride of Istanbul,” which brought him international fame. These series featuring the actor were broadcast not only in Turkey, but also in a number of foreign countries.

The series “Red Roses” became the actor’s last appearance on television. Now, he aims to continue starring exclusively in movies.
