"I couldn't stand the way she kept talking back." Man in Jizzakh who beat his wife sentenced to 7 days in prison

A man who beat his wife and caused her minor injuries in the Arnasay district of Jizzakh region was sentenced to 7 days in prison. The Daryo newspaper reported this, citing court documents.

According to information, a person named G.Kh., born in 1996, had an argument with his wife at home on August 3 of this year. During the argument, he beat his wife and caused her minor injuries. According to the conclusion of the forensic examination, the woman suffered minor injuries that did not harm her health.

At the court hearing, the man fully confessed to his guilt, stating that he could not stand his wife's retorts and beat her, and later apologized to her. He also noted that he loves his wife, has no intention of divorce, and regrets what he did, and that such a situation will not happen again.

The woman reported that the couple had had many quarrels before. According to her, each time after the quarrel, her husband did not bring her to apologize, but instead returned to her husband.

“I want to live with my husband, but I am afraid that these quarrels will continue. Because even after we forgave him and started living together again, the quarrels continued. I cannot forgive him anymore, I ask you to punish him legally,” the woman testified.

The Arnasay District Court for Criminal Cases found G.Kh. guilty under Part 2 of Article 59-2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (domestic violence) and sentenced him to 7 days of administrative detention.
