Hungary has taken action against 10 Russian diplomats

This was announced on September 8 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban.

According to her, 10 employees of the Russian diplomatic mission engaged in activities on the territory of Hungary that are incompatible with the diplomatic status defined in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

For this reason, the Hungarian side demanded that these diplomats leave the country's territory.

"Ten employees of the Russian mission carried out activities in Hungary that are incompatible with the status of a diplomat in accordance with the Vienna Convention. For this reason, the Hungarian side demanded that they leave the country," the Foreign Minister said.

The Hungarian government, led by Prime Minister Peter Magyar, stated that this decision was made in order to protect the country's "security and sovereignty."

At the same time, Anita Orban emphasized that the expulsion of the diplomats does not mean severing diplomatic relations with Russia.

In her opinion, the necessary dialogue between the two countries must be maintained based on mutual respect and compliance with established rules.

Meanwhile, Russian state media reported that Moscow is preparing appropriate measures in response to Hungary's decision. It has not yet been disclosed what retaliatory measures the Russian side will take.
