How has the average pension in Uzbekistan changed over the last 10 years?
According to Statcom, in 2016 the average pension was 494 thousand soums, and by 2025 this figure had increased by 3.3 times to 1.6 million soums. According to Kun.uz, using the official inflation calculator, the real increase in the average pension during this period was 21 percent.
Dynamics of the average pension in Uzbekistan over the past decade
According to data provided by the National Statistics Committee, the average monthly pension in Uzbekistan has undergone significant changes over the past decade.
In particular, in 2025, the average pension amounted to 1.6 million soums, which is 3.3 times higher in nominal terms than in 2016.
Kun.uz analyzed the real growth of the average pension using the Central Bank's inflation calculator. According to calculations, the consumer basket value of 494 thousand soums in December 2016 (taking into account the middle of the year) (the average pension in that year) will be equal to 1 million 360 thousand soums in December 2025. This amount is 21% higher than the average monthly pension in 2025 (1 million 649 thousand soums).
