Sources in the Yemeni government reported that the Iran-backed Houthis have seized Perim Island and the town of Dubab, located in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This area is considered one of the most important sea routes in the world.

It is said that this move by the Houthis threatens energy markets and further escalates the war in the Middle East. It is noted that the forces of the internationally recognized government of Yemen have retreated from Perim Island.

"If the Houthis fully seize the Bab al-Mandab Strait, Iran will gain a major advantage in a war with the US. This situation will reduce oil supplies and lead to a sharp increase in oil prices," the report says.

Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter, had been using the Red Sea precisely because the Strait of Hormuz was closed. Iran, meanwhile, officially denies giving military orders to the Houthis.

**Government Forces Preparing for a Counteroffensive**

It has been announced that Yemeni government forces will attempt to retake the territories seized by the Houthis. They stated that they would use weapons and aircraft to eliminate the "terrorist" Houthis in strategic locations. These areas also include the city of Al-Mukha and the Hanish Islands, which were seized by the Houthis on September 10.

Colonel Majid al-Nazili urged civilians not to use the road between the cities of Taiz and Al-Mukha and to stay away from Houthi military equipment.

Clashes have intensified further in recent days. The Houthis are moving to control the country's long coastline. According to Reuters sources, these rapid attacks by the Houthis were carried out under the direction of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to Reuters, Iran ordered the Houthis to increase attacks on Saudi Arabia and promised to allocate more money, weapons, and officers for this purpose.
