Half of Grant Funds in Uzbekistan to Be Allocated to Digital Education
Half of the grant funds raised in 2026 will be allocated to digital education in Uzbekistan. This was reported following a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dedicated to the development of the digital educational ecosystem.
Last year, $22 million in grants was raised for these purposes. By the end of 2026, this figure is planned to reach $60 million, and by 2030 — $100 million.
The second half of the funds will be directed toward professional development, the creation of digital education centers in remote regions, and equipping them with modern equipment. These centers will offer training in artificial intelligence, robotics, and programming.
The development of digital education is expected to facilitate the training of specialists for new sectors of the economy. By 2030, there are plans to train 5.5 million young people. Annually, 1 million people are intended to be trained in robotics, computer game development, startups, and other promising fields.
The target set for 2030 to create 300,000 IT jobs has already been achieved in 2026. The new goal is to create another 500,000 jobs by 2030 through the development of new sectors of the digital economy.
To achieve this, plans include expanding school education projects, combining the capabilities of universities and private training centers, and developing training for specialists in artificial intelligence, microelectronics, unmanned technologies, and the Internet of Things.
The presentation also reviewed the "Digital Youth" platform. It will aggregate data on young people's education, professional skills, and certificates, helping to match job openings and track employment.
The President emphasized that the development of digital education should be evaluated not only by the number of people trained, but also by the quality of training and its impact on employment.
