Germany is preparing for a potential war with Russia — Bloomberg

Germany is preparing its hospitals to receive a large number of wounded in the event of a war with Russia.

"Is our healthcare system ready for this? The only answer is no. A long and difficult process, akin to a marathon, awaits us," said Benedikt Friemert, commander of the military hospital in Ulm.

It is noted that the German government has ordered the reopening of a medical bunker located beneath the military hospital in that city.

It outlines a scenario of potential military actions with Russia: in the event of a conflict, up to 1,000 wounded soldiers could be brought to Germany every day.

In April, Berlin officially approved its military strategy. It sets the goal of building the most powerful army in Europe by 2039. The document refers to Russia as the "primary threat." Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, described this concept as a "clear manifestation of confrontation."

For instance, the port of Bremerhaven is being modernized for weapons deliveries.

In response to Berlin's "hostile" actions, Moscow has decided to close the consulate and branches of the Goethe Institute in Saint Petersburg. German diplomats and institution staff must leave Russia by September 18.
