From Uzbekistan to the Heart of Changan: UNI-E Owners Visited the Brand's Homeland
Five Uzbek customers of Changan UNI-E won a trip to China and set off for Chongqing, the brand's home city. The car owners got acquainted with Changan's production, watched a crash test of the brand's car, and tested a new model under road conditions. They complemented the automotive program by visiting the unforgettable sights of one of China's largest megacities.

The central point of the trip was Changan's digital factory. The guests visited the battery and assembly shops, getting closely acquainted with the stages of car production, electric vehicles and hybrid models, the company's modern technologies, and new developments.
The Changan digital factory covers an area of 77 hectares, with the total area of its buildings reaching 410,000 square meters. The production complex integrates six processes: stamping, welding, casting, painting, production of battery modules and battery packs, as well as the final assembly stage. More than 400 robots and 800 intelligent equipment units are used at the enterprise.
One of Changan's special directions is the research and testing of automotive technologies. The company's global R&D network unites more than 24,000 engineers from 31 countries and regions, while the Global Research Center and SDA Lab operate in Chongqing. SDA Lab tests automotive electronics and software, including control systems, chassis, powertrains, and connected services.
SDA Lab has more than 1,500 testing equipment units, allowing for remote testing around the clock. The volume of daily modeling in a virtual environment exceeds 3.3 million kilometers. This helps to verify the performance of vehicle systems in various road scenarios even before practical road testing.
At the factory, the participants got acquainted in detail with the UNI-E, the new Changan car, and other models of the brand, their driving characteristics, and the technological solutions applied. Changan specialists explained the unique aspects of the models and answered the guests' questions.
A crash test of a Changan car was a special part of the program. The participants watched the test live and saw how the condition of the car and the level of protection for the people in the cabin are assessed after a collision.
The test was conducted in a laboratory with an area of 14,000 square meters. About 4,200 tests are carried out here annually — ranging from full-scale vehicle collisions to testing individual components. Two special tracks allow accelerating a vehicle weighing up to three tons to a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
