French LINAGORA looks to Uzbekistan as a regional software development hub

French technology company LINAGORA is considering starting software development operations in Uzbekistan and setting up a regional development hub for Central Asian and CIS markets.

The possibility was discussed at a meeting between LINAGORA representatives and an Uzbek delegation during the delegation’s official visit to France.

The two sides talked about relocating part of LINAGORA’s software development activities to Uzbekistan and creating a regional development center for Central Asia and CIS markets.

They also examined the possible use of LINAGORA’s open-source software solutions in Uzbekistan’s public and private sectors, along with opportunities to apply open and auditable artificial intelligence models, including LUCIE.

At the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan presented opportunities for international companies to establish software development teams in the country. The organization emphasized Uzbekistan’s talent pool, competitive operating costs and the support mechanisms available to IT Park residents.

If realized, the proposed center could broaden LINAGORA’s role in regional software development while helping the company reach Central Asian and CIS markets.

Uzbekistan and France have also been deepening cooperation in the energy sector, with talks covering renewable and conventional energy and oil and gas projects involving French companies TotalEnergies, Voltalia and EDF. These include two 100 MW solar power plants and a 1,573 MW thermal power facility.

Parliamentary cooperation has also been identified as an area for further development, with the two countries discussing closer ties in investment, energy, digitalization, education and human rights. Bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and France reached $1.4bn in 2025, as the two countries continued to strengthen their strategic partnership.
