Free baggage storage and Wi-Fi have been proposed for introduction at airports and train stations in Uzbekistan

At Uzbekistan's international airports, as well as at major railway and bus stations, it has been proposed to organize free baggage storage for up to 24 hours and provide passengers with at least one hour of free Wi-Fi. In addition, there are plans to install electronic terminals for ordering official taxis. These measures are provided for by a draft resolution submitted for public discussion.

According to the document, the new services are intended to be phased in starting July 1, 2027. Free baggage storage will be available to ticket holders both before departure and after arrival.

The electronic terminals will allow passengers to specify their destination, find out the cost of the trip, and order an official taxi. A SIM card or mobile internet will not be required to place an order. After placing the order, the passenger will receive a receipt with a QR code.

The draft notes that major transport facilities currently lack stable Wi-Fi. There is also no unified procedure for free baggage storage for passengers, nor a system for ordering official taxis via terminals with the issuance of QR receipts.

The proposed measures are aimed at improving the quality of passenger service at the country's airports and stations.
