First International Mercure Hotel Opens in Khiva

A Mercure hotel has opened in Khiva, in the Khorezm Region, becoming the first international hotel brand in the region. The hotel was constructed with a US$26 million investment and has generated 200 new jobs.

The property features 145 rooms and can host up to 300 guests at once. Its architecture blends national and modern elements designed to evoke the spirit of historic Khiva.

The hotel’s opening broadens Khorezm Region’s hotel infrastructure and adds more capacity for welcoming tourists. The arrival of an international brand is expected to further boost the tourism potential of the Khorezm oasis.

The expansion of international hotel brands into regional markets is significant for attracting foreign tourists, including travelers with high purchasing power. When selecting accommodation, international visitors often prefer familiar hotel chains they already know and trust.

The growth of hotel infrastructure also raises the importance of service quality in the tourism sector.

The opening of the Mercure hotel in Khiva adds more capacity for receiving visitors and further developing the region’s tourism potential.
