FIFA President Gianni Infantino has arrived in Uzbekistan

The head of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, has arrived in Tashkent on a working visit. As part of the trip, he will inspect the facilities and the progress of the capital's preparations for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will take place in 2027 in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

Infantino arrived at Tashkent Humo International Airport from Baku on a Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER aircraft.

The FIFA delegation was welcomed by the Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov and the First Vice-President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov.

During the visit, the FIFA head will inspect sports facilities and familiarize himself with the preparations for the upcoming tournament.

As a reminder, the stadium in New Tashkent, which will host matches of the 2027 U-20 World Cup, is designed for 55,000 spectators. Construction of the arena started in November 2025, and the project cost is estimated at 100 million dollars. The stadium will be the first indoor facility of this scale in Uzbekistan.
