Elon Musk supported Donald Trump's initiative to abandon the abbreviation "AI"

American entrepreneur Elon Musk proposed abandoning the generally accepted term "artificial intelligence" and replacing it with the concept of "superintelligence." The billionaire announced this on the social network X, noting that the abbreviation "SI" is a better fit.

Previously, US President Donald Trump had repeatedly made similar calls, declaring his intention to sign an official executive order to rename artificial intelligence to superintelligence. This is not the first time the American leader has insisted on promoting precisely this terminology in relation to advanced developments in the industry.

The issue of changing the terminology has already reached the level of interstate agreements. According to White House documents following the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Washington and his talks with the US President, the leaders of the two countries agreed to officially use the term "superintelligence" instead of "artificial intelligence" to refer to the respective new technologies.
