Elevators are serviced monthly.
New requirements have been established for the use of elevators in apartment buildings in Uzbekistan. Now, elevators must be serviced monthly, undergo periodic technical inspections annually, and have dispatch control over their operation.

**Elevators are subject to monthly maintenance: New rules approved**
By order of the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, amendments and additions were made to the Rules for the Maintenance and Operation of Apartment Buildings. This document was state registered with the Ministry of Justice on August 14, 2026 under No. 3824-1.
According to the new requirements, the managing body of an apartment building must ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of elevators throughout their entire service life. This rule does not apply only to periods when the elevator is stopped for maintenance and repair.
The managing body must also establish dispatch control over the operation of elevators. The emergency rescue device, surveillance camera, communication amplification device, and emergency notification means in elevators must be constantly maintained in good condition.
Light and sound signaling and communication devices that allow two-way communication with the operator from the elevator cabin and machine room are also required to be in working order.
In addition, it has been established that elevators must be serviced monthly and undergo a periodic technical inspection once a year. In the event of an accident, malfunction or other dangerous situation, the elevator maintenance organization must be immediately notified.
It is mandatory for the elevator cabin to have a sign indicating the rules for its use, the name and load capacity of the elevator, the permitted number of passengers. It will also contain the registration number on the "Safe Elevator" electronic platform, information about the periodic technical inspection, and a telephone number for contacting the maintenance organization or emergency service.
The order providing for these new rules will enter into force three months from the date of official publication.
