Drinking water and wastewater service tariffs to be increased in Tashkent region
In Tashkent region, the prices of drinking water and wastewater services for the population will be increased. The updated tariffs were approved by the decision of the Tashkent Region Kengash of People's Deputies dated September 16.
In the areas served by "Toshkent Viloyati Suv Ta'minoti" JSC, the price of 1 cubic meter of drinking water for the population will be increased from the current 2,600 soums to 3,100 soums. Including VAT, the new tariff will amount to 3,472 soums.
As for the wastewater service, the tariff for 1 cubic meter for the population will be increased from 1,300 soums to 1,500 soums. The new price with VAT will be 1,680 soums.
Tariffs will also change in the areas served by "Chimgan-Chorbog' Magistral Suv Ta'minoti" JSC. Here, 1 cubic meter of drinking water for the population will be increased from 1,500 soums to 1,700 soums, and the wastewater service will be increased from 1,150 soums to 1,350 soums. The new tariffs with VAT are set at 1,904 and 1,512 soums, respectively.
Along with increasing the tariffs, the decision also defines the task of improving the quality of services provided to consumers and conducting explanatory work among the population regarding the new prices. The new tariffs will come into force 15 days after the decision is published in the mass media.
On July 24, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree "On additional measures aimed at further improving the drinking water supply and wastewater system." According to the document, starting from September 1, all projects for the development of drinking water and wastewater infrastructure handed over to the use of "O'zsuvta'minot" JSC will be managed on a special electronic platform.
In addition, certain contractual relations between the company and its system enterprises will be established directly, and debt and grant funds from international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations will be more widely attracted to new projects.
