Draft presidential decree proposes Mahalla League
The Ministry of Sports has put forward a draft presidential decree designed to promote football at the mahalla, or neighborhood, level and broaden the system for developing professional players.
According to the draft, “Mahalla League” competitions will be held, and mini-football fields that meet FIFA Arena standards will be constructed in every mahalla.
The draft also calls for the creation of district football clubs and the Republican Girls’ Football Academy, along with efforts to attract talented young people into professional football.
Those involved discussed ways to develop football from the mahalla level, improve football infrastructure, boost the performance of professional clubs and prepare players capable of competing internationally.
The discussion centered on four areas: grassroots development through mahallas, football infrastructure, professional clubs and training players for international competition.
