Diyora Keldiyorova to participate in the Grand Prix tournament
Uzbekistani judoka and Olympic champion Diyora Keldiyorova will participate in the Grand Prix tournament to be held in Zagreb, Croatia. This was reported on the official website of the International Judo Federation.
This competition will be the third consecutive tournament for the Uzbekistani judoka. Prior to this, she won a gold medal at the Asian Cup held in Aktau, Kazakhstan. This tournament was the first competition for Keldiyorova after the 2024 Paris Olympics.
During the bouts in Kazakhstan, Diyora defeated local athletes Nuraylim Sarsenbek and Gulkhan Shingiskhan. In the final match, she claimed an early victory over Azerbaijan's representative Farida Mirzayeva.
Despite this, the judoka failed to win a medal at the Grand Slam tournament held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Diyora Keldiyorova won a gold medal in the -52 kg weight category at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Thus, she became the first female athlete in the history of Uzbekistan to become a Summer Olympic champion.
