Direct flights have begun operating from Tashkent to Izmir
SunExpress has launched direct flights between Tashkent and Izmir. Now, travel between the cities is possible without transfers, and the flight takes approximately 5 hours and 35 minutes. This was announced at the presentation of the new route in Tashkent.
Since September 22, the airline has been flying three times a week — on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights are operated on Boeing 737 aircraft.
Ticket prices start from 1.8 million soums one way and from 3 million soums round trip. The price includes 20 kg of checked baggage and 8 kg of hand luggage.
The direct air connection is expected to facilitate travel between the two countries for both tourists and business passengers. At the same time, tourist interest in the destination is already increasing.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, about 17,000 tourists from Turkey have visited Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year. This is 15% more than in the same period last year.
SunExpress representative Maximilian Gorski congratulated Uzbekistan on Independence Day. He also thanked travel agencies and APG partners for their cooperation. In addition, Gorski emphasized the symbolism of launching the Tashkent – Izmir flight during this particular period.
Initially, SunExpress focused on air connections between Turkey and Germany. Later, the company expanded its route network. Three years ago, the carrier opened flights between Izmir and Samarkand. Now, a direct connection has also been established with Tashkent.
Check-in at Tashkent and Samarkand airports is currently free of charge. In Izmir, a fee is charged for it. Furthermore, there are plans to introduce paid check-in in Tashkent starting from the new year.
A seat in the cabin can be selected free of charge during online check-in. Booking changes are available for an additional fee.
Meals are not included in the ticket price. Passengers can order them separately. Hot meals are mainly prepared in Izmir, so a different service format applies on flights from Tashkent.
Up to four animals can be transported on a single flight. The price depends on the pet's weight, size, and breed. On average, it starts from 80 euros.
A bassinet is provided for passengers with infants. It must be booked in advance through an agency or the airline's customer support service.
In addition, SunExpress offers services for golf enthusiasts. In particular, a golf set is transported free of charge. Transfer to the golf club and booking a tee time are also provided. Free play is also possible as part of the corresponding offer.
The airline is also considering launching flights to airports in the Fergana Valley starting early next year.
