Development of Uzbekistan's Capital Market Discussed in Tashkent
The VIII Cbonds International Conference "Capital Market of the Republic of Uzbekistan," dedicated to the development of the financial market and attracting investment, was held in Tashkent. It was attended by representatives of government bodies, financial institutions, investors, issuers, international organizations, and market infrastructure participants.
Representatives of the National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP) reported on the latest changes in the capital market of Uzbekistan and the prospects for its further development.
First Deputy Director of NAPP Vyacheslav Pak stated that the market has transformed significantly over the past three years. According to him, digital identification, green bonds, shelf registration, and individual investment accounts have been introduced in the country.
He also pointed to the launch of a mechanism for paying dividends and interest through the Central Depository and investment intermediaries. As Pak noted, this helped resolve the issue of unclaimed dividends.
He specifically highlighted the international IPO of the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan (UzNIF), which took place in 2026. According to him, this listing became one of the largest IPOs on the London Stock Exchange in the last five years.
