Critical minerals, big goals, and the new generation: Chairman of TMC held an open dialogue with youth
A new stage is beginning in the technological metals industry. From now on, superiority will be achieved not only through rich resources or modern equipment, but through specialists who can turn knowledge into technology and ideas into production results. The Technological Metals Combinat (TMC) of Uzbekistan aims to train such personnel for the future starting today.
An open dialogue under the theme "The Leader and Youth" was organized at the rare metals and hard alloys production plant under TMC, with the participation of the Chairman of the Board Farhod Abdullayev and the youth working within the combinat's system.
"Today, I came here not to lecture you, but to listen to you, to know your thoughts and proposals, and to talk together about the future of TMC. Because the tomorrow of any organization, first of all, depends on its youth — on you," said Farhod Abdullayev.
Currently, 352 young people are working at the plant, which makes up about 21 percent of the team. Farhod Abdullayev pointed out that the future potential of the combinat is embodied behind this figure.
"For me, 352 young people is not just a number. It represents 352 destinies, 352 dreams, 352 ideas, and 352 opportunities," said Farhod Abdullayev.
According to him, the youth working today as engineers, technologists, and in other fields must tomorrow become the new generation of leaders who will determine the development directions of TMC.
For this reason, the combinat views young people not just as employees performing specific tasks, but as a force that will shape the new industry.
In conditions where technologies are updating at a rapid pace, working for many years with once-acquired knowledge is no longer sufficient. Modern industry requires a specialist to constantly learn, master digital tools, know foreign languages, and make independent decisions.
The Chairman of the Board emphasized that in today's labor market, it is not the volume of knowledge that is important, but how it is turned into results.
The tasks set before TMC are not limited only to establishing new production capacities. Linking research and development work with industry, introducing modern technologies, and producing high-value-added products are also among the priority directions.
To achieve such goals, specialists who approach problems in a new way, propose solutions, and take initiative are needed, rather than employees who just follow ready-made instructions.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the task of young people is not limited only to participating in the production process. They are expected to put forward new ideas, master modern technologies, conduct scientific research, and be ready to accept management responsibility in the future.
In turn, the management expressed readiness to listen to the initiatives of young people, support promising proposals, and create conditions for their implementation in practice.
The main conclusion of this dialogue at TMC is also this: the future of the technological metals industry does not depend only on underground resources. It will be determined by a new generation of specialists who can unite science, technology, and production into a single result.
