Construction Ministry Comments on Tashkent Excavation Collapse

Uzbekistan's Construction Ministry said an excavation collapse at a Tashkent construction site was caused by the contractor's careless actions, according to preliminary information.

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services has issued a statement regarding the partial collapse of an excavation pit at a construction site in Tashkent.

Following reports of the incident circulating on social media, officials from the Construction and Housing and Communal Services Control Inspectorate, accompanied by experts from pertinent organizations, promptly visited the location.

Preliminary findings indicate that the incident took place at a hotel construction site situated in the Orzular mahalla of Tashkent's Almazar district. The collapse of a section of the pit occurred during excavation work, attributed to the contractor's negligent actions.

Efforts are presently underway at the site to address and rectify the aftermath of the incident.
