China leads Uzbekistan in number of foreign-invested companies
China has the largest business presence among foreign investors in Uzbekistan, with 6,436 companies operating in the country as of September 1, 2026.
China tops the list of foreign-invested companies in Uzbekistan
According to the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan currently has 21,490 companies and organizations with foreign investment operating in the country. Of these, 16,732 are foreign-owned enterprises and 4,758 are joint ventures.
The total number of foreign-invested companies has increased 1.7 times over the past five years. During the same period, the share of foreign-owned enterprises in the overall total rose from 56.2% to 77.9%.
Russia placed second with 3,589 companies, followed by Turkey with 2,365. Kazakhstan had 1,345 companies, while South Korea and Afghanistan had 739 and 725, respectively.
Azerbaijan came in seventh with 503 companies, followed by Tajikistan with 483, the United Arab Emirates with 464 and India with 446.
Altogether, these 10 countries accounted for 15,412 of the 21,490 foreign-invested companies operating in Uzbekistan.
