Charity supports grieving children in Romania
Mustard Seed Jersey helped host a week-long camp of activities for grieving children.
A local charity, Mustard Seed Jersey, recently supported a week-long camp in Romania designed to help grieving children. Trustee Dave Bisson, who traveled to Romania for the initiative, described it as an honor to assist those in need.
Bisson collaborated with the Association of Changed Lives charity to host the activity camp in the Oradea area. Many of the participating children had experienced the loss of a parent. Mustard Seed Jersey has been providing funding and donations to people in Romania since its establishment in 1998.
"It was a wonderful experience seeing the children who come from such backgrounds enjoying themselves," Bisson remarked. He noted that evenings at the camp concluded with prayers and hymns.
The charity reported that the children departed the camp with "more peace, higher self-esteem and much more confidence." Bisson stated that over 40 children attended the camp, with "nearly all of them having lost their parents."
He observed a significant transformation in the children throughout the week: "To see them sort of blossom throughout the week was really good because when they first came in on the Monday they were looking pretty forlorn. By the end of the week they had cheered up considerably."
