Cadillac showcases new XT5 crossover
Cadillac continues to expand its lineup with the introduction of the new XT5 plug-in hybrid version. The crossover has two electric motors, an updated design, and a roof-mounted lidar.
Cadillac has introduced a new plug-in hybrid modification of its XT5 crossover.
So far, this model is intended only for the Chinese market.
The hybrid XT5 is distinguished by its updated front end. Its large radiator grille is decorated with lighting elements typical of the Optiq, Lyriq and Vistiq models. Active aerodynamic baffles have been added to the lower air intake. Also, the hybrid version does not have the usual exhaust pipes.
The car's engine system consists of two electric motors and a plug-in hybrid system with a lithium-ion battery that supports 5C fast charging. The gasoline engine has a capacity of 148 horsepower, the front electric motor has a capacity of 215 horsepower, and the rear electric motor has a capacity of 148 horsepower.
Another important innovation is the modernized equipment for driver assistance systems. The roof has a lidar sensor, additional cameras have appeared on the sides, and the headlights are equipped with air-colored lights typical of cars with semi-autonomous control functions. The improved complex, based on the Momenta R7 World Model technology, is designed for driving in the city and can handle situations such as roundabouts, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings and lane changes.
Cadillac hopes that the new system will not only recognize the road and obstacles, but also better understand the surrounding situation, predict the development of events in advance and select appropriate reactions.
