Buying gold jewellery is not the same as investing in gold
In Uzbekistan, gold has long been viewed as one of the most dependable ways to protect savings. For many years, people have purchased rings, earrings, bracelets and full jewellery sets. They store them at home, hand them down to daughters and granddaughters, buy them for weddings and say: “Gold is wealth.” But in most cases, this is not an investment. It is simply the purchase of a piece of jewellery. Recently, one of my close relatives sold some old gold jewellery.
