“Britney vs Spears”: Documentaries about the sensational lives of show business stars

We talk about documentaries where the scandals in the personal lives of celebrities became movie plots.

Several documentaries have been filmed about Madonna, but a feature film had not yet been made. In 2020, the singer collaborated with screenwriter Diablo Cody to work on a film about herself. She also planned to direct the film herself. However, the filming process dragged on: the singer concluded that her concert tour was more important.

The latest documentary about the singer is called “Madonna and the Breakfast Club”.

For many years, the singer sued her father, demanding the termination of his conservatorship over her. She began to demand freedom, regularly exposing the terrible restrictions and unbearable living conditions imposed by her tyrannical parent to the public. Britney achieved her goal. Before she was released from the conservatorship, the documentary “Britney vs Spears” was released. The creators of the film claim that the girl's sudden disappearance from the media space in the 2010s was not due to exhaustion from her career, but was rather the plan of her father, Jamie Spears.

The musician has spent more than half of his life in big show business, and two documentaries have already been filmed about him. The first, “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,” was released shortly before his 17th birthday. At that time, the teenager's success story was not highly appreciated: the film's ratings plummeted. His subsequent music videos became targets for dislikes.

Three years ago, the series “Seasons” was released, which tells the story of Bieber's fame, exhaustion, period of depression, joy, career — in general, his life.

No sensational news can be found in Emma Cooper's three-part film “Depp v. Heard”: all the facts have already been covered in the news one way or another. But putting it all together and summarizing it is also a lot of work.

The creators of the documentary “Kim vs Kanye: The Divorce” compare the couple to a royal family — their marriage seemed very strong. The film describes how the stars' love began, how their marriage developed, and what caused its breakdown. Various versions are presented. Of course, the main characters also shared their views: each has their own truth.
