Police have announced a reward for information that may help locate Nusrat Osman.
Malawi police are investigating the abduction of a British citizen who was taken in Blantyre, the country’s main city in southern Africa.
According to a police statement, Nusrat Osman, 47, was seized at about 12:30 local time on Friday by four men who were travelling in a grey Nissan Dualis.
Authorities are offering more than $17,000 (£12,600) for “credible information” that could lead to the rescue of the mother of two young children and the prosecution of those responsible.
Osman was said to have been employed by a local auditing firm.
A Malawi news outlet reported that Osman’s husband was distraught over her disappearance.
“I don't know where she is or how she is. My wife is an auditor and I have no issues with anyone,” he was quoted as saying by Nyasa Times.
Police said the reason for the abduction remains unknown, and that the kidnappers have not yet made contact with the victim’s family or the authorities.
