British rapper Yung Filly is set for a retrial in Australia on three rape charges. This development follows a jury's decision to acquit him of several sexual assault offenses while being unable to reach a verdict on others.

The YouTuber, known by his birth name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was accused of multiple instances of rape and assault against a fan after a performance at a Perth nightclub in 2024.

Barrientos had pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges. Last month, a jury found him not guilty on three charges of sexual penetration without consent.

He was also cleared of one assault charge and a strangulation charge. However, he was convicted on two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm; sentencing for these will occur after his retrial.

According to proceedings in The West Australian court, the 31-year-old social media personality engaged in consensual sexual activity with a 20-year-old fan in his hotel room. The fan subsequently alleged that he became violent and disregarded her pleas to stop.

Barrientos is scheduled to appear in court on August 27 for a bail variation application. A date for the retrial has not yet been established.

This is a developing news story, and further details will be provided as they become available.
