The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered more than a thousand Boeing 737 Max aircraft to be inspected due to possible cracks in the fuselage. This was reported by CBS News.

This instruction applies to the 737 Max 8, 737 Max 9 and 737-8200 models, covering 471 aircraft in the US and 1,429 worldwide. The inspections must be completed by September 10.

Earlier, cracks were found in older modifications of the Boeing 737, in particular in the reinforcing parts around the doors and emergency exits. Over time, these parts can develop defects due to the stresses during flight and landing. Boeing said that it is conducting an analysis to determine the root cause of the cracks and prevent them in the future.

While no flaws have been found in the Max family of aircraft, Boeing says their design and assembly processes are similar. That's why the tests were also applied to these models.

For information, in September 2025, Uzbekistan Airways signed a contract with Boeing to purchase 14 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Neither Uzbekistan Airways nor Boeing disclosed the value of the contract.
