On the first day of speeches of the General Assembly's high-level week, the presidents of Brazil and the USA opened the podium. Dozens of heads of state spoke, including representatives from Turkey, Korea, France, Japan, Great Britain, African nations, Mongolia, Croatia, Finland, Luxembourg, Chile, Peru, and others.
First of all, Secretary-General Guterres is participating in the General Assembly for the last time, as he will not hold this position starting next year. For this reason, the hall saw Guterres off with applause after his speech.
Secondly, even the delegation led by the President of Iran is in New York. The US granted them visas, but the media was denied. Pezeshkian will deliver a speech from the high podium on September 23.
Thirdly, the provisional leadership of Venezuela states that they came to the session trusting in UN justice.
Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping did not come to the General Assembly again, but is coming to America on an official visit. That is, the Chinese President will arrive in Washington directly from Beijing. Trump left New York because he has to welcome his colleague in Washington.
The delegation of Uzbekistan is led by the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva. She will speak on September 23. However, she also participated in the opening session and held bilateral talks.
