Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed technical regulations, metrology, and the creation of conditions for expanding mutual goods supplies.

Belarus and Uzbekistan plan to deepen cooperation in standardization.

Belarus and Uzbekistan intend to expand cooperation in technical regulation, including standardization and metrology. These issues were discussed between Elena Morgunova, Chairperson of the State Standard of Belarus, and Nuriddin Mamajonov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belarus, according to the press service of the Belarusian agency.

The State Standard emphasized that relations between the two countries are developing within the framework of a strategic partnership. The countries aim to increase mutual trade turnover to $2 billion by 2030.

According to agency representatives, the development of technical regulation plays a key role in trade and economic cooperation. Nuriddin Mamajonov noted that this area is one of the fundamental aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, current results of cooperation were reviewed and promising areas were identified. The regulatory framework governing cooperation includes approximately 20 agreements. Particular attention will be paid to creating favorable conditions for mutual goods supplies, including in sensitive trade areas and promising commodity items.

The parties also agreed to hold an online seminar on technical regulation with the participation of experts and business representatives from both countries. The need for such an event stems from the reform of the technical regulation system in Uzbekistan. Participants will be able to receive up-to-date information on ongoing changes directly from specialists.

Cooperation in the training and professional development of specialists was also discussed at the meeting. The Uzbek side expressed interest in exchanging experience in metrology.

Elena Morgunova confirmed the readiness of the State Standard of Belarus to actively promote cooperation and exchange expertise and practical experience.

According to her, intensified interaction should contribute to the further strengthening of trade, economic, and cooperative ties between the two countries.
