In China, 16 people died as a result of a strong earthquake. Video

A magnitude 7 earthquake occurred in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. 16 people were killed, and another 46 were injured.

According to the Xinhua agency, citing the disaster relief headquarters, among the victims, 11 people are in serious condition, and 35 have minor injuries. Due to the earthquake, homes of 339 families were destroyed or damaged. In addition, 20 livestock pens were damaged. Rescue teams continue to work at the scene.

The tremors occurred on the evening of October 22 in Baqen County, Nagqu Prefecture-level City. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

, that 2.2 thousand earthquakes were registered in Uzbekistan in January–September 2026. To monitor seismic activity, the country combined data from its own stations with information from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.
