An eco-police officer died in the line of duty

Mirzo Botirov, chief specialist of the department for monitoring the Aydar-Arnasay lakes system of the State Ecological Control Inspectorate under the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, died in the line of duty. This was reported by the press service of the committee.

According to the information, an operational raid was conducted in the bed of the Syr Darya River on September 9 at 23:00.

During this raid, Mirzo Botirov encountered resistance from violators fishing with an electric rod and fell into the water.

As a result of search operations conducted in cooperation with relevant organizations, the inspector's body was found on September 10.

Currently, appropriate measures are being taken to provide the necessary material and moral support to the family members of the deceased, as well as to investigate all the details of the incident.

Mirzo Botirov's services and courage in protecting nature and ensuring compliance with ecological legislation will be duly appreciated, and he will be posthumously awarded the "Tabiat Himoyachisi" (Defender of Nature) badge.
