The incident occurred during a flight from Texas to New Jersey, according to the TMZ portal.
Due to the man's behavior, the crew was forced to divert the flight and land the plane at Baltimore/Washington International Airport in Maryland. According to eyewitnesses, the passenger appeared drunk and behaved aggressively.
At first, the man spoke loudly about Jesus and the road to hell. After a Black flight attendant responded to the noise, he insulted her using a racist slur. The passenger then began shouting homophobic slurs.
The situation escalated into physical violence. The man struck a nearby passenger and broke his laptop. After that, he pushed a woman who tried to intervene in the conflict.
To stop the unruly passenger, crew members handed duct tape and zip ties to three passengers. With their help, the man was secured to his seat until the end of the flight. Photos published in the media show that he had abrasions and bruises.
A video recording provided by TMZ shows crew members and passengers holding the man down in his seat. Judging by the footage, he continued to resist. In the published photos, his body, arms, and even his head are secured with duct tape.
After landing in Maryland, the plane was met by law enforcement officers. They boarded the aircraft and took the man into custody.
The TMZ publication notes that the passenger's appearance after the incident resembled a person completely wrapped in duct tape and secured directly to the seat.
