AI application in medicine to be expanded in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence in medicine. Starting next year, ten AI systems will begin operating in cardiology, hepatology, ophthalmology, and hematology.

As President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated at a meeting with healthcare and pharmaceutical workers, new solutions will be introduced for remote patient monitoring, detecting diseases through speech, and monitoring drug safety. This will increase the scale of AI application in healthcare, while doctors will more actively adopt new technologies.

The contests "Best IT Operator" and "Best Digital Medicine Doctor" will be held in each region. The winners will receive 100 million UZS each.

Earlier, the head of state announced that starting next year, winners of the regional stages of the medical workers' competition in Uzbekistan will receive an electric vehicle as an award. This year, the contests are being held for the first time, and the winners will receive 30 million UZS each. Starting next year, the incentives will be enhanced.
