On September 8-9, at the "People's Friendship" Palace of Arts, People's Artist of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan Ogabek Sobirov is presenting his solo concert program to the audience. The "Daryo" team attended the first day of the concert and spoke with the artist and his duet partners before the concert.
To support the singer, Khorezmian artist Rohila Rozimova, comedian Shukurullo Isroilov, and actor Mehriddin Rahmatov attended the concert.
In this year's program, which consists of three parts, Ogabek Sobirov paid special attention to new songs.
— In today's concert, I have three duet songs, but not with female artists. In addition, there are songs in the languages of brotherly nations — Turkmen, Karakalpak, Azerbaijani, and Turkish. This serves to make the concert diverse, says the singer.
In the previous concert, we worked with the beloved dancers Dilnoza Ortiqova and Dilorom Madrahimova. You can see their dances in this year's program as well. We have prepared well, and now the audience will judge.
The singer also expressed his opinion on a situation that is currently causing a lot of discussion — the children of deceased artists claiming copyright for their parents' songs.
— Personally, I want everyone to sing my songs. Once you create a song, it simply becomes the property of the people. Our work should become a guide for our disciples. If they sing our songs, they will remember us, and the life of our song will continue. I have no right to forbid others from singing my songs. Singers can sing them in their own interpretation, as long as the essence and identity of the song are not lost. Everyone has their own style, vocal ornamentation, and pain, he says.
Ogabek Sobirov's brother, singer Anvar Sobirov, was not only a host artist at the concert but also took the stage with a new song about the homeland.
— My brother and I, with good intentions, created a new song called "Yangi O'zbekiston" (New Uzbekistan), hoping that one day we would sing this song on big festive stages. Today we are premiering it for the audience. My brother Ogabek and I have sung Khorezmian songs together before, but this is the first one about the country. The idea itself came from my brother Ogabek, says the singer.
Ibrohim Karim, the son of the People's Artist of Uzbekistan, sang a song praising the homeland together with his father. He also expressed his pride in being under his father's guidance.
