Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz News Agency.
Law enforcement officers in Karshi detained a man who promised to assist a citizen in registering his work record and pension through his connections in the Pension Fund. He demanded over 100 million soums for his services.
According to
the press service of the Kashkadarya Region Department of Internal Affairs, the previously convicted man offered to register 42 years of work record and, using his contacts in the Pension Fund, help with pension processing.
For his "services," he demanded 136.1 million soums. The official pension amount was just over 4 million.
The transfer of funds, pre-treated with a special chemical compound, was carried out under the supervision of law enforcement. The suspect was detained upon receiving the agreed-upon sum. A criminal case has been opened.
This is not an isolated case of attempted pension fraud. Previously, in Namangan,
the chief specialist of the city's off-budget Pension Fund was arrested while receiving $200 and 4.8 million soums. In exchange for this money, he promised to help two citizens apply for old-age pensions and increase their payments.
