A hired worker died after being crushed by soil in Navoi

A hired worker died after being buried under soil while repairing pipes in the Kyzyltepa district of Navoi region. This information was confirmed to “Daryo” by Hayot Shamsutdinov, head of the information service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The tragic incident occurred on August 7 in the Alisher Navoi mahalla of Kyzyltepa district, during the repair of old underground pipes. 59-year-old hired worker S.Q. died at the scene as a result of being buried under soil.

According to information, the deceased, who was engaged in individual work, was married and was the father of one son and three daughters. Currently, the Kyzyltepa district Internal Affairs Department is conducting an investigation into this case.

According to the Labor Inspectorate, a total of 447 accidents occurred at workplaces in the first half of 2026. 113 of them ended in death.
